🏭 Method 1: Professional Heat Press

  1. Set Machine Parameters: Set your heat press to 140°C – 150°C and adjust pressure to Medium.

  2. Pre-press the Jersey: Place the polyester shirt flat on the platen and press for 3 seconds using a Teflon sheet to eliminate moisture and wrinkles.

  3. Position the DTF Film: Align the DTF film transfer with the printed side facing down on the shirt.

  4. Step 1 — Initial Heat Application: Cover with a Teflon sheet and press for 12–15 seconds.

  5. Step 2 — Cold Peel: Remove the jersey from the heat press and lay it flat. Wait until the film is completely cold to the touch (approx. 1–2 minutes) before peeling the film off smoothly in one fluid motion.

  6. Step 3 — Post-Press Seal: Place the jersey back under the press, cover the exposed DTF design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet, and press for 5 seconds. This embeds the ink into the polyester fibers and removes any plastic-like gloss.

🏠 Method 2: Household Iron

  1. Iron & Surface Prep: Set the iron to Polyester / Synthetic (~140°C or 2 Dots). Turn steam 100% OFF and empty the water tank. Work on a flat, solid wooden surface or hard tabletop (avoid padded ironing boards).

  2. Pre-iron Area: Iron the target area for 3 seconds to flatten the polyester fabric.

  3. Position & Cover: Place the DTF transfer in position and cover it with parchment paper.

  4. Step 1 — Application Press: Press the iron straight down vertically for 15–20 seconds with heavy, firm body weight. Never slide or rub the iron back and forth.

  5. Step 2 — Complete Cooling: Allow the film and fabric to cool down completely. Do not attempt to peel while warm, or fine details will lift.

  6. Step 3 — Peel & Post-Seal: Peel the PET film off gently. Place parchment paper directly over the printed design and apply the iron straight down for an additional 5 seconds to permanently lock the transfer edges.

💡 Pro Tip: DTF powder adhesive melts quickly, making it ideal for delicate polyester. The second press (post-press) with parchment paper is essential to turn the transfer from a shiny surface to a soft, matte finish that mimics screen printing.
