How to Apply Cut Flock (Velvet HTV) onto Football Shirts (Heat Press & Household Iron)
🌡️ Quick Reference Guide
| Pressing Method | Temperature (°C) | Press Time | Carrier Peel | Pressure Level |
| Professional Heat Press | 145°C – 150°C | 12 – 15 seconds | Warm / Cold Peel | Medium-High (4 bar) |
| Household Iron | ~145°C (Polyester/2 Dots) | 20 seconds | Cold Peel | Heavy (Firm body weight) |
🏭 Method 1: Professional Heat Press
-
Set Machine Parameters: Set your heat press to 145°C – 150°C with Medium-High pressure.
-
Pre-press the Jersey: Press the jersey for 3 seconds using a Teflon sheet to remove humidity and flatten synthetic fibers.
-
Position Design: Place the cut flock film with its sticky carrier backing onto the shirt.
-
Step 1 — Main Press: Cover with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper and press for 12–15 seconds.
-
Step 2 — Peel Carrier: Allow the film to cool down to warm/cold, then peel the clear carrier backing off smoothly at a sharp angle.
-
Step 3 — Fiber Lift Press: Place parchment paper over the bare flock and press for 3 seconds to raise and soften the suede texture.
🏠 Method 2: Household Iron
-
Iron & Surface Prep: Set iron to Polyester / Synthetic (~145°C or 2 Dots). Disable steam 100%. Use a hard wooden tabletop or flat board.
-
Pre-iron Area: Press the target area for 3 seconds to prep the jersey fabric.
-
Position & Cover: Place the cut flock on the shirt and cover completely with parchment paper.
-
Step 1 — Application Press: Press straight down with heavy downward force for 20 seconds. Do not slide the iron.
-
Step 2 — Cold Peel: Wait 2 minutes until the carrier sheet is completely cold before peeling.
-
Step 3 — Post-Seal: Cover the exposed flock with parchment paper and press for 5 seconds to firmly embed the adhesive into the jersey fibers.
💡 Pro Tip: Cut flock has high-density synthetic suede fibers that absorb heat. Always use parchment paper for the final post-press to fluff up the velvet texture without crushing the fibers flat.
