🏭 Method 1: Professional Heat Press

  1. Set Machine Parameters: Set your heat press to 140°C – 145°C with Medium-High pressure. Keeping the temperature low prevents dye migration (shirt dye bleeding into the white vinyl).

  2. Pre-press the Jersey: Press the jersey for 3 seconds with a Teflon sheet to clear humidity.

  3. Position Transfer: Place the printed vinyl design (with its clear transfer application mask attached) onto the jersey.

  4. Step 1 — Main Press: Cover the application mask with a Teflon sheet and press for 12–15 seconds.

  5. Step 2 — Mask Removal: Allow the design to cool slightly (warm to cold) and peel away the clear transfer application tape slowly at a 180° angle.

  6. Step 3 — Edge Seal: Cover the bare printable vinyl with parchment paper and perform a quick 3–5 second press to seal all outer edges against peeling.

🏠 Method 2: Household Iron

  1. Iron & Surface Prep: Set iron to Polyester / Synthetic (~140°C or 2 Dots). Disable steam completely and ensure no water remains in the iron. Set up on a hard, non-padded surface.

  2. Pre-iron Area: Press the targeted jersey area for 3 seconds to prep the fabric.

  3. Position & Cover: Lay the printable vinyl transfer with its application mask on the shirt and cover completely with parchment paper.

  4. Step 1 — Application Press: Press down with maximum body weight for 20 seconds. Work in overlapping sections if the design is larger than the iron base plate, pressing each section for the full 20 seconds.

  5. Step 2 — Cold Peel: Wait 2–3 minutes until the transfer mask is fully cold before peeling it off.

  6. Step 3 — Edge Lock: Place parchment paper over the exposed vinyl design and press firmly for another 5 seconds to ensure the thermo-glue penetrates the polyester fibers.

💡 Pro Tip: Printable digital vinyl is thicker than standard cut HTV. To prevent dye migration on dark or vibrant polyester jerseys (e.g., red or blue shirts turning white vinyl pink or light blue), use a Blockout / Anti-Bleed Digital Vinyl with a built-in dark carbon barrier layer.
